Up until 2003, the historical marker had to do all the talking, as the old studio was long destroyed.
The rebuilding of Stax is one of the few things I can always look to when in need of an example
that some people actually do take the time to reflect on the importance of the past and its role
in shaping the future. Needless to say, I'm awfully proud to be a part of that. This shot may as well
have been the only one I took this whole weekend... just to stand right there was a full-on religious experience.
